Raya Strauss Ben Dror, a philanthropic social entrepreneur and businesswoman was born in Nahariya. Her parents, Dr. Richard and Hilda Strauss immigrated to Israel in 1936,
As Zionist pioneers in the Fifth Ascension, with their son Michael Strauss, and among others
Nahariya founders. They became farmers and grew various field crops. In addition, two cows grazed on their property. Over time, the number of cows increased and the milk yield increased with them. The girl, whose name was known as an excellent cook, began to produce various dairy products from the excess milk, which the Strauss couple sold along with the crops of the field to the residents of Nahariya and the British soldiers in the area. From this infrastructure grew Strauss Dairies in Nahariya.

We recognize diversity as a source of strength and treat others with respect and kindness.
Many diverse populations, as well as our young people, choose to live here in various forms of settlement, thanks to the quality of life reflected in the employment opportunities and wage conditions, education, community life and culture, health and social services, infrastructure and personal security. The public and community space in the Western Galilee is an example of a society that manages to integrate religions, cultures, views, sectors and genders in an equal and inclusive way. We are demonstrating to the world how, through education, dialogue and building trust, a region can move from a reality of national conflict to a reality of coexistence in a common civil space.
