“HaYamiya” (the Flotilla) – Enocuraging Water Sports in Nahariya

Zionism, values and excellence, training, education and the development of the sailors of future generations, the “HaYamiya” is an educational and sports institution which has been operating in the City of Nahariya since the early 1940’s. At the beginning, the “HaYamiya” was involved in immigration (“Aliya”) and illegal immigration (“Ha’apala”) and later on it converted its activities to sports and educational activities. Over the years, “HaYamiya” was involved in shaping the lives of thousands of the City's graduates. Currently, “HaYamiya” absorbs children and young teenagers and provides them with elite sport and educational values through its maritime activities. During its years of activity, “HaYamiya” has developed a high number of competitors at national and international levels. For many years, Raya has been investing in “HaYamiya” and in the development of the future generations.

The Municipal Music Conservatory in Acre

The Municipal Music Conservatory in Acre is named after Dr. Richard and his wife, Hilde, Strauss, in appreciation for their great contribution to the development of the Zionist enterprise in the Galilee.
The Music Conservatory, that comprises more than 700 students, Jews and Arabs, is one of the oldest in Israel. Studies take place in a modern building that includes individual study rooms, rooms for musical ensembles and a hall with wonderful acoustics containing 350 seats. All musical instruments and singing styles are being taught in the Music Conservatory. A dedicated and professional teaching staff accompanies the students, from elementary school and until their graduation in 12th grade. Most of the students take theoretical and practical matriculation exams, consisting of 10 study units. The musical and singing ensembles, the orchestras and choirs, perform at events held in the City, at music conferences of the Ministry of Education and in concerts and competitions abroad. Alongside the young ensembles, the Music Conservatory includes an orchestra of adults, who graduated about forty years ago.

The STEM Program

It incorporates a broad gamut range of programs within the fields of science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics that are integrated into the education system in all the schools in Nahariya, this in order to train and prepare children and youths for tomorrow’s world of employment.
For this important educational activity, we teamed up with the Rashi Foundation, the ORT Network and other partners, led by the Municipality of Nahariya, and after a year of carrying out mapping work, the work program for the next 5 years was launched, in which two flagships were defined – education provided by a quality employment institute and excellence in education.

The Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company

Which operates at Kibbutz Ga’aton, is considered one of the leading ten modern dance companies in the world. For the past 30 years, Raya has served as the Company’s patron, her long-standing support has enabled the establishment of the International Dance Village which is used by the Companies and hosts their activities, and its main dance hall was named the “Raya House”. Raya and her team accompanied the Association’s Management throughout the development process with a vision and strategy, they prevented the transfer of the Company’s activities to the center of Israel, and in practice, secured the future of the Kibbutz by maintaining the activities there.

Keshet Ayalon

Keshet Ayalon is one of the world's leading musical centers for nurturing young string players from around the world, which is located in Kibbutz Ayalon, at a distance of 5 km from the border with Lebanon. The musicians stay at the Kibbutz for several months and become goodwill ambassadors for the State of Israel. For over 30 years, Raya has been one of the leading donors and supporters of this Project. She and her team have been involved in writing the vision and strategy for this Project.
