Raya has been nurturing centers of excellence for decades, while operating to ensure their continued existence in the Western Galilee, among them: Keshet Ayalon, the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company from Kibbutz Ga’aton, the Beit Lohamei HaGeta’ot (The Ghetto Fighters’ House) museum and the Music Conservatory in the city of Acre.
doing
The Keshet Ayalon Project is famous throughout the world and it attracts musicians from all corners of the globe.
The Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company operates and trains at the International Dance Village in Kibbutz Ga’aton, where all the dancers also live. The Beit Lohamei HaGeta’ot (The Ghetto Fighters’ House) museum runs unique programs intended to connect youths to the Holocaust remembrance. And alongside these, one-time cultural events have been held at Raya’s initiative over the years, such as bringing the Israeli Opera to perform in the Old City of Acre.
Objective
To activate excellent cultural centers in the Western Galilee and ensure that qualitative cultural activities are being held in the region.
Culture constitutes a layer in the quality of life of a region. Both in what it offers to the residents and as a source of employment for quality artists and professionals.
Raya has been supporting for decades cultural centers of excellence located in the Western Galilee and she works to maintain their activities there. Concurrently, she is involved in bringing one-time cultural activities to the region.
The Master’s Classes of Keshet Ayalon in Kibbutz Ayalon have become a household name throughout the world and they attract the best string players from all over the world. They come here to attend workshops that last several months and subsequently they become loyal ambassadors of the Galilee and Israel at the next stations of their lives.
The Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company, one of the leading dance companies in its field, retains its excellent reputation and employs the best dancers, although it operates from the remote Kibbutz Ga’aton in the Western Galilee. The fact that the dancers actually live at the International Dance Village in the Kibbutz, adds a unique touch for the Company. In the past, attempts were made to move the Company’s focus of activity to cities located in the center of Israel but they were halted by Raya, who insisted that the Company should continue operating from Ga’aton.
The Beit Lohamei HaGeta’ot (The Ghetto Fighters’ House) Holocaust and Jewish Resistance Heritage Museum does not stagnate and constantly expands its activities. It constitutes a regional attraction for numerous visitors, particularly to youths, for whom the connection to the history and roots of the Jewish people is imperative.
The establishment of the Music Conservatory in Acre has greatly promoted the involvement of the youngsters in the City within the field of music and it has enabled the discovery of many talents, who enjoy practicing in such a qualitative cultural center.
