Raya Strauss Ben Dror, a philanthropic social entrepreneur and businesswoman was born in Nahariya. Her parents, Dr. Richard and Hilda Strauss immigrated to Israel in 1936,
As Zionist pioneers in the Fifth Ascension, with their son Michael Strauss, and among others
Nahariya founders. They became farmers and grew various field crops. In addition, two cows grazed on their property. Over time, the number of cows increased and the milk yield increased with them. The girl, whose name was known as an excellent cook, began to produce various dairy products from the excess milk, which the Strauss couple sold along with the crops of the field to the residents of Nahariya and the British soldiers in the area. From this infrastructure grew Strauss Dairies in Nahariya.

Raya Strauss studied at the Weizman School in Nahariya and at the Eioni High School in the city. She was one of the leaders of the “United Movement” nucleus in Nahariya, as well as an apprentice and boat commander at the Hapoel Nahariya Navy.

Raya studied certificate studies at Haifa University in the fields of marketing, business administration and speaking. Later, she specialized in family business studies at Kellogg University in the United States. She also specialized in BSR (Business Social Responsibility) studies in the United States.

We recognize diversity as a source of strength and treat others with respect and kindness.
Many diverse populations, as well as our young people, choose to live here in various forms of settlement, thanks to the quality of life reflected in the employment opportunities and wage conditions, education, community life and culture, health and social services, infrastructure and personal security. The public and community space in the Western Galilee is an example of a society that manages to integrate religions, cultures, views, sectors and genders in an equal and inclusive way. We are demonstrating to the world how, through education, dialogue and building trust, a region can move from a reality of national conflict to a reality of coexistence in a common civil space.

Intellectuals, creators, elected officials and entrepreneurs, co-operate in leading the Western Galilee as a learning and renewing region, which successfully integrates into the changing trends in the world. The leap of faith in the Western Galilee will be based on making the region a source of attraction for tourists from Israel and the world and on building the region as a global center of advanced industries, through a dense and networked array of educational centers, schools, institutions, ventures and businesses. In realizing our vision, we will be a pioneering model and a source of inspiration for other regions that wish to create a leap forward that will allow all their residents to enjoy its fruits over time.
